Abstract

Radioactivity measurements made with a NaI(Tl) crystal are reported for some electronic components from a head amplifier. The amplifier in toto gave a net rate of 138 cpm above a bias of 25 kev, and the gamma spectrum showed lines due to K, Ra/sup 226/ daughters, and Th/sup 232/ daughters. The count rates from the valves, ceramic capacitors, and four different types of resistors of the amplifier are tabulated, and approximate activities were estimated. Radioactivity measurements are also reported for a glass window from a large cloud chamber; both Ra/sup 226/ and Ra/sup 228/ daughters were detected. (D.L.C.)
