Abstract

One of the safe ways to control mosquitoes is environmentally friendly using herbal larvicides produced from plants. This study aims to determine the LC50, LC90, and the mixed concentration of lime leaf extract and galangal rhizome on mortality of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae. The sample of this study was Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae instar III and IV as many as 25 larvae. Data analysis was performed using the One-Way ANOVA Test and the Least Significant Difference Test. The results showed that lime leaf extract with LC50 at 650 ppm and LC90 at 1100 ppm killed 13 larvae (52%) and 23 larvae (92%). Galangal rhizome extract LC50 at 30 ppm and LC90 at 90 ppm killed 13 larvae (52%) and 23 larvae (92%). The mixed concentration of choice from LC50 lime leaf extract and galangal rhizome killed 19 larvae (76%), while mixed the concentration of choice from LC90 lime leaf extract and galangal rhizome killed 25 larvae (100%). The One-Way ANOVA Test analysis with a value of sig (p) = 0.00 (p < 0.05) showed that the mixed concentration of choice from LC50 and LC90 had a treatment effect on the number of deaths of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae instar III and IV. The analysis of the Least Significant Difference Test showed that there was a difference in treatment with a value of sig (p) = 0.00 (p < 0.05). Recommended as an effective natural larvicide.
