Abstract

In this work, aluminium alloy (AA) 7075 was reinforced with 1 wt% aluminosilcate layered nanomaterial to understand the vibration characteristics of the nanocomposites for lightweight robotic arm application without compromising the mechanical strength. The nanocomposite was developed by liquid-state fabrication method with uniformly dispersed nanomaterial into the matrix material and T6 heat treatment process was carried out for the developed matrix / nanocomposite material. The developed materials were characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction analysis (X-RD). The natural (or) resonant frequency and damping ratio of the developed material was identified using the impact-hammer test. To support the experimental data, modal analysis simulation was carried out using Fusion software.
