Abstract
The general dynamic three-moment equation including the effects of rotary inertia and shear deformation has been derived for the determination of natural frequencies of continuous beams. An example of a three-span continuous beam is given to illustrate the application of the derived equation and to show the effects of allowing rotary inertia and shear deformation upon the natural frequencies of the beam.
