Abstract

To the Editor: Longitudinal melanonychia (LM) is more common among Asians than Caucasians and is characterized by pigmented longitudinal streaks on the nails.1 It must be differentiated from an early sign of nail apparatus melanoma, especially in adults.2 Given the considerably few reports describing nail apparatus melanoma among children, a wait-and-see policy is recommended for pediatric LM.3 However, the disease progression of pediatric LM is uncertain.4 The aim of this study was to analyze the long-term natural course of pediatric LM.
