Abstract

Results from experimental studies of free (natural) turbulent air convection and heat transfer during the heating of a horizontally placed nonisothermal disk are presented. The influence of temperature difference is analyzed, correlation between the parameters characterizing free convection of air above the disk and intensity of heat transfer is revealed, and it is shown that the heat transfer from the disk facing downward is significantly less intensive.
