Abstract

In this study, an exemplary analysis of native advertising (NA) applications carried out on Youtube in Turkey has been made. It is one of the most current examples of new media advertising. In NA, the audience is often unaware that they are watching an ad. Therefore, it can be said that this new type of advertisement has an important potential for transforming the relations between the audience and the advertisement. Hence, it is necessary to carry out comprehensive analyzes for NA. One of the most important social media channels with NA applications is the Youtube. In this context, in this study, native advertising applications are discussed in the example of two different programs published on the Youtube in Turkey. For this purpose, within the scope of the study, NA applications were analyzed through a qualitative analysis in an example section from İbrahim Selim Mercedes Drive Talks and İbrahim Selim and Tonight Programs. As a result of the analysis, it has been seen that various methods are used. These are the use of space and audience, and the presentation of the product as a natural part of the celebrity's life.
