Abstract

The relationship between industry and vascular surgery has led to many advances in our field, especially in the realm of endovascular therapy. The blend of clinical experience, engineering expertise, and innovation is a powerful combination. However, intertwined financial relationships can threaten the public trust and confidence in decisions that result from seemingly incestuous associations. Human nature being what it is, financial reward can introduce often subtle bias into decisions and conclusions.
