Abstract

It is only recently that we have come to recognise that organised facilities for making available current literature in science and technology form an essential and important component of the apparatus of technical education. In the Autumn of 1962, a new service for the scientist and technologist will become fully operational. In this article John Wellens describes why and how this new service has come into being and what it will provide.
