Abstract

The present work contains a succinct analysis of the actual state of the national forensic science in the context of its integration in the European space. After the collapse of the former USSR, the national forensic science inherited the concept, the system and the whole methodological arsenal of knowledge from the soviet forensic science. At present when the Republic of Moldova has obtained the status of candidate-state to adhere to the European Union and takes an active part in the integrative European processes regarding the intensification of the fight against criminality, our national forensic science must revise some of its outdated theses, which are based on former ideological stereotypes, in order to ensure its integration in the European forensic science community. Moreover, it is imperative to ensure a more profound knowledge of the occidental forensic science and to intensify the mobility of our scientific-practical staff and their relationship not only with the Russian and Romanian colleagues but also with those from the western European countries.
