Abstract

The creation of the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency was with a dream to carry out the enforcement of all environmental laws, guidelines, policies, standards and regulations in Nigeria. Apart from this, it was also empowered to make regulations to further its aim. On this footing, the National Environmental (Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Soap and Detergent Manufacturing Industries) Regulations of 2009 was made to prevent and minimize pollution from all operations and ancillary activities from the sectors so mentioned in order to protect the Nigerian environment. This paper does a brief review of the regulation.
