Abstract
I read with interest in the Members' Newsletter (No 39 June 1987) a note entitled 'National survey of radioactivity', in which was discussed 'the involvement of school children in a unique experiment which should give them a greater awareness of the natural radioactivity surrounding us all'. That is indeed something we should all encourage, since school children, like the rest of us, are constantly subjected to a barrage of inaccurate and misleading comments about radiation and radioactivity.
