Abstract
The main contribution of this paper is to address the challenge of estimating wideband speech (0–7kHz) from narrow band speech (0–3.4kHz). The increase in frequency bandwidth improves the perceived speech by artificially adding some spectral components. These components are obtained by various signal processing techniques which can extract the information from transmitted narrowband signal in extreme case. The artificial bandwidth extension (ABWE) is being done using the information available in the narrowband speech signal for better quality and intelligibility. The method of extending the wideband speech, is preferred over band limited narrow band speech with a level of significance is being done by using spline curves methods.
