Abstract
This paper describes narrow-band interference filters based on a Fabry–Pérot interferometer. They are characterized by absorbing metallic films incorporated into the structure of the interference filter. Such a design has virtually the same transmission spectrum in the required region as those with no absorbing films but at the same time suppresses all radiation in the long-wavelength region. An example is given of the synthesis of an interference filter based on Ge, SiO, and Ni films that operates in the mid-IR region for the wavelength of carbon dioxide CO2 at 4.25 µm.
