Abstract

Objective: Narrow band imaging (NBI) has demonstrated to be a useful tool for early cancer diagnosis, from lung and esophageal cancer. NBI enhances micro-vessel vision to detect early vascular anomalies leading to discriminate healthy and pathologic tissues. NBI endoscopy has been proposed as diagnostic tool and as a surgical aid for endoscopic procedures in various specialties. In neurosurgical field the only application of NBI is in ventricular lesions biopsies. We present the application of NBI imaging to pituitary adenoma trans-sphenoidal resection.
