Abstract

This paper describes a joint optometry and pharmacy student workshop which aims to meet IPEC competencies while teaching students the roles of optometrists and pharmacists, common signs and symptoms of ocular allergy, and the mechanism, use, and appropriate recommendations for common over-the-counter ocular allergy medications. Details are provided on the methods and materials used in the case-based ocular-allergy activity such that it can be used as a model for other health professional workshops.
