Abstract

Nano-starch particles were prepared with soluble starch by reversed-phase micro emulsion polymerization. It was found that the sorts and the content of via-surfactant, the volume ratio of Water/Oil phase and the concentration of starch were important factors in designing the size and the dispersion of starch particles. Moreover, it was found that the recycle of the oil phase was feasible as extra surfactant added, which provided industry a promising way for reducing cost. Finally, dispersion of nano-starch particles in rubber was preliminarily studied.
