Abstract

AbstractFor the first time, nanosized molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanoparticles (NPs) were grown on the surface of poly(ethylene glycol)‐polydopamine‐modified reduction graphene oxide) nanosheets (rGO‐PDA‐PEG). The obtained rGO‐PDA‐PEG@MoS2 nanocomposites exhibits excellent dispersion in polyalkylene glycol (PAG) synthetic oil and outperforms GO and MoS2 NPs as additives in terms of friction reduction and wear resistance at elevated temperature. The superior tribological behaviour of rGO‐PDA‐PEG@MoS2 might be beneficial to the synergistic effect between MoS2 and rGO.
