Abstract

Ordered nanoporous alumina thin films with interpenetrated structures were prepared via alternating voltage (AV) anodization of Al foils in oxalic acid aqueous solutions. Anodization at different time periods was systematically investigated to better understand the formation process of this unique structure. Meanwhile, the corresponding current-time transient curves were recorded to monitor the formation process. Based on the obtained results, the possible formation process of porous alumina thin films with interpenetrated structure was discussed.
