Abstract

Nanotechnology is the most well-known research area in the field of since the last century. The dimensions which are presented with less than 100 nm with one dimension are called nanoparticles (NPS). Depending upon their shape and size NPS can be one dimensional (1D), 2D, 3D or 0D. In the past century, researchers have found that size and shape have affected the different properties as like; chemical, physical, structural properties. For measuring the size and shape of NPS normally scanning electron microscope (SEM) has been used. In some cases, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is also used for observing their shape and size. In this review paper, it has been analysed and observed that the properties, synthesis and applications of NPS in 3D printing applications. Normally NPS are present in different size ranges, so as per requirement different sizes of nanoparticles are to be used in different applications. In this paper, we also discuss that different types of NPS according to different categories. Their properties are mainly depending on their shape, size and structure. This review paper applications of NPS in the different area has been also discussed. Biomedical, aerospace and the aeronautical area is the most demanding sector of NPS. This review paper, it has been also discussing the use of NPS in additive manufacturing (AM) due to most emerging field in the current century.
