Abstract

J. H. Xin, L. Zhang, and co-workers demonstrate in article 1500234 that the combination of mussel-inspired and thiol surface chemistry can result in stable hierarchical nanoparticles with excellent superparamagnetic, superhydrophobic, and antibacterial properties. The as-prepared nanoparticles cannot only directly serve as oil removing materials, but also be used to form magnetic liquid marbles for liquid transportation and other derived purposes.
