Abstract

Properties of sintered preforms based on bauxite HCBS with and without finely dispersed quartz glass are compared. The sintering of preforms based on nanoparticles separated from these suspensions are studied. The incipient sintering process in nanoparticles is 300 – 400°C lower in comparison to HCBS-based materials. The porous structure of ceramic castables of different composition is analyzed and shown to be controlled to a significant extent by nanoparticles contained in them.
