Abstract

Background and Aims: Hypercholesterolemia promotes endothelial dysfunction, which might trigger the establishment of cardiovascular diseases. HB-ATV-8 comprises nanomicelles of membrane lipids of the T. aquaticus and an amphipathic peptide that protects against atherosclerotic lesions. However, it is unknown if HB-ATV-8 also maintains the function of the endothelial cells of the thoracic arteries in the model of atherosclerosis in rabbits.
