Abstract

Nanofibers can be produced from different type of polymers depending on end-use applications like tissue engineering, drug delivery, filtration, etc. The product output characteristics are influenced by so many factors such as from raw material selection to various machinery process conditions. Even though several types of nanofiber production techniques are available in the market, electrospinning technique is quite famous for the production method for its versatility of product developments since 1930s. In the last two decades, it got famous for its effective product outputs, and also various research activities witnessed for its developments like multijet electrospinning, needle-less electrospinning, bubble electrospinning, electroblowing, melt electrospinning, coaxial electrospinning, self-bundling electrospinning, nanospider electrospinning, and so on. The nanoparticle plays a vital role in engineering field for reducing the consumption of the active agent by increasing the surface area. Nano-encapsulations are used in textile and other fields to increase the durability of the finishing. This chapter will highlight some of the important machinery parameters and productionenhancement techniques in various aspects on the fabrication of nanofiber 4or nanocomposite materials output to meet the end-use applications. This chapter also describes the different methods of nanoparticle development and nano-encapsulation techniques.
