Abstract

Photothermal Therapy In article number 2106932, Manuel Arruebo, Victor Sebastian, and co-workers demonstrate a facile and effective procedure to assemble near-infrared-sensitive Pd nanosheets into a drug-loaded biopolymeric nanoparticle, resulting in an efficient theragnostic vector. This vector is capable of coupling the NIR plasmon resonance absorption into thermal energy to both accelerate drug release and photothermally destroy malignant melanoma cells.
