Abstract

HighlightsA novel “nanoengineered hydrogel” barrier based on silicate nanoplatelets and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) was developed to prevent the formation of postoperative adhesions.Compared to other hydrogel systems, the prepared biomaterial is injectable and sprayable which makes it compatible with minimally invasive interventions.
