Abstract

Hydrothermal method to synthesize hollow carbon nano spherical structures using dextrose an hydrous. It acts as an active colloidal catalyst, a precursors in the preparation of hollow transition metal oxide spheres namely TiO2 and ZnO. These spheres were characterized by XRD, EDS, SEM and UV–Vis. The size of hollow spheres evaluated by scherrer’s formula reveals, they are in the range of 20–70 nm. The SEM images obtained for respective hollow spheres shows uniform spherical morphology of size 500 nm–600 nm. At the end we presented the UV–Vis spectra absorbance edge of the hollow spheres. They are found to be in good agreement with the literature values.
