Abstract

The authors conducted an analysis of quantitative and qualitative indicators of criminal offenses in the field of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors. Based on the study of statistical data, the most common criminal offenses of the specified type were determined, and the percentage ratio of indicators by types of offenses was established.
A general criminological portrait of the subject of the specified type of criminal offense was compiled. On this basis, it was established that drug crimes in Ukraine are most often committed by male adults, the percentage of female crime of this type and minors is insignificant. This indicates the identity of individual characteristics of the subject of drug crimes with the subjects of other criminal offenses in general. Attention was focused on the presence of employees of some law enforcement agencies among the persons who committed criminal offenses, among them those with the largest number of offenders were identified.
The authors of the article drew attention to minor subjects of drug crimes, analyzed their socio-demographic characteristics, determined the percentage ratio of their number to the total number of subjects of criminal offenses in the field of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors.
The types of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors, which were most often seized as objects of illegal activity during the commission of criminal offenses, were determined.
Based on the results of the study of the issues covered in the article, the authors identified the main components of drug crime, and stated the urgent need to take them into account when developing and designing prevention and countermeasures. At the same time, attention is focused on the need to direct them to persons who are typical subjects of drug crimes.
Also, the authors came to the conclusion that prevention should be carried out not only in the criminal environment, in institutions for the execution of punishments, but also in the social environment of the subjects of criminal offenses of this type.
