Abstract

Not until one year ago has it become more and more known in German speaking countries, that the treatment of borderline and posttraumatic disorders benefits from the use of opiate receptor antagonists. Prerequisite is, that psychotherapeutic approaches, pharmacotherapy and brain physiological research are integrated in an overall concept. We report on the current standing of scientific research and moreover our own clinical experiences with opiate antagonists are explained. Our achieved knowledge permits our to present criteria how to combine these drugs and psychotherapy successfully.
