Abstract

In the Bohemian Massif, there are many localities with the occurrence of secondary phosphates bound to the fissures of the host rocks. The type of these rocks partly determines the character of individual phosphate associations. As part of this comprehensive work, based on the author’s PhD thesis, the main host rock types have been classified and selected mineral associations have been studied in detail. This paper is a summary not only of the author’s research, but also of the historical knowledge in the field of secondary fissure phosphates in the Bohemian Massif. The paper concludes with a brief outline of the likely conditions for the formation of fissure phosphates.
