Abstract

In 'Koolappa Nayakkan Kadal' there is a scene in which a Dhasi woman gives advice to her daughter, even the love story of a young girl also has mentioned at first in 'Challabha' script in Tamil with the title, 'Koolappa Nayakkan Kadal', and it was originally sung as Tirumalai Nayakkan Kadal and that was detested by him. It has been suggested by scholars that it was later changed to ‘Koolappa Nayakkan Kadhal’ and the book has been published and reviewed in a detailed way by the great critic, M. Arunachalanar. This paper attempts to examine and clarify the relevance of those concepts. Nagama Koolappa Nayakkan's romantic novel, its editions and the relevant reference books have been taken as the supporting document. This paper highlights the importance and essence of love in citrilakkiyam at an initial level.
