Abstract

A novel series of 15-membered diaza-dithiamacrocyclic complexes (ML1Cl2) and (ML2Cl2) (M=Fe,Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) have been prepared by the template condensation reaction of o-thiosalicylic acid with aliphatic or aromatic diamines and diethyl malonate in the presence of transition metal ions in alcoholic medium and have been characterized through IR, 1HNMR and electronic spectral studies, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. An octahedral geometry has been suggested for all complexes.
