Abstract
A method for the preparation of a new heterocycle-containing chelating aminopolymer, N-2-(2-pyridyl)ethylpolyallylamine (PEPAA), was developed by synthesis in gel via the addition of 2-vinylpyridine to polyallylamine, resulting in the formation of polymer with the degree of substitution up to 1. The structure of the obtained polymers was confirmed by 1H NMR spectroscopy. Cross-linked PEPAA can be used for the extraction of iron(iii) and nickel(ii) ions when present simultaneously from sulfate solutions
