Abstract
Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is the symptomatic manifestation of coronary artery disease. ACS pain is severe and anxiety-provoking. While unrelieved pain and anxiety can potentiate damage to myocardial muscle, there are no documented standards for ACS pain assessment and management practices.
