Abstract

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is a term that encompasses the concepts of unstable angina and non-ST and ST segment elevation myocardial infarction. The management of unstable angina can be challenging in terms of establishing whether the patient is at low, moderate or high degree of risk of progression towards infarction. Wellens syndrome, first described in 1980, consists of easily identifiable ECG findings which have been shown to highly correlate with the presence of significant left anterior descending coronary artery disease.
