Abstract
A synthesis of 6,8-dinitro-2,4,6,8-tetraaza[3.3.1]bicyclononan-3-one from dimethyl α,α'-diaminoglutarate was brought about in six steps. A similar conversion of dimethyl α,α'-diaminosuccinate to a derivative of 2,4,6,8-tetraaza[3.3.0]bicyclooctane was unsucessful
