Abstract

Abstract The 13C n.m.r. spectra of a series of 4-quinolone derivatives are presented and discussed, the existence of a peri shielding effect in the 2-quinolone series has been verified. Long range 13C - 1H coupling constants are reported for some methylquinolones which have been correlated with 1H - 1H coupling constants.
