Abstract

AbstractThe N.M.R. spectra of dihydrostreptomycin (I) sulfate, N‐methyldihydrostreptomycin (II) trihydrochloride, α‐ and β‐methyl dihydrostreptobiosaminide (VI and VII), and dideguanyldihydrostreptomycin (VIII) were taken in deuterium oxide. The J12 values of the anomeric protons of the dihydrostreptose and the L‐glucos‐amine fragment were in agreement with the α‐L configuration of the two glycosidic linkages of the streptomycin molecule proposed by McGilveray and Rinehart [2].
