Abstract

It is shown that, in the SU(6) GUT of Fukugita, Yanagida and Yoshimura, intermediate mass scales characterising observable N N oscillations can not exist as claimed by the proponents, unless the Extended Survival Hypothesis is ignored. In a supersymmetric version of the model, the corresponding mass scales turn out to be much larger, rendering the oscillations unobservable.
