Abstract

A novel organic 2,2′-bipyridine-5,5′-potassium dicarboxylate (K2C12H6N2O4) was designed and synthesized as an anode material in potassium-ion batteries. Multiple active sites and large π-conjugated plane molecular structure promote K2C12H6N2O4 to exhibit a high specific capacity of 840 mAh g−1 at 20 mA g−1, which exceed most of the reported K-storage anode materials.
