Abstract

Seven acid dyes were applied on nylon 66 from aqueous and n-butanol assisted aqueous dyebaths. n-Butanol caused disaggregation of the dyes in solution and also on the substrate and increased the diffusion rate of the dyes in the substrate and lightfastness as well. The increase in lightfastness was attributed to greater penetration of the dyes in the substrate.
