Abstract

Human concentrated fibrin tissue adhesive was developed as on adhesive for fixation of tissue, hemostasis and promotion of tissue repair. In this study, its use in rhinological surgery was investigated. The subjects were patients who underwent curative surgery during a 2 year period beginning in 1990. There were 92 cases.Results1. Surgery was completed without the use of a tampon in every case, and the efficacy rate of hemostasis was 96.7%.2. Nor side effec ts nor complication were attributable to this technique.3. Maintenance of nasal breathing was possible without pain o riginating from removal of the tampon.4. The fibrin tissue adhesive was used for hemostasis, adhesion and restorative closure of the bone.
