Abstract
Effect of element addition on the superconductivity of rare-earth-element-free high Tc superconductors has been investigated. The element was chosen out of the IIa group. The measurement of the superconductivity revealed that the addition of the appropriate amount of Mg together with Cu was effective to rise the zero-resistance temperature of the Bi compounds.
