Abstract
Up to date, the treatment for TMD including the splint might have been an occlusal treatment which grasps the stomatognathic system from the view point of form. However, it was hard to accept that this kind of occlusal treatment was effective and finally the concept there is no relationship between TMD and occlusion appeared. On the other hand, it was reported in Part 1, 2 and3 that a new Kamiguse (habitual first stroke of mastication) concept which grasps TMD as restriction of temporomandibular movement was very effective for the treatment of TMD by controlling the retro-superior force towards condyle with the remedy of Kamiguse. The basic principle of this remedy of Kamiguse is only to give flexibility to a dull movement sided condyle in natural dentition. In this paper, using only the splint for the remedy of Kamiguse to natural dentition with click was introduced. The mandibular occlusal position which had been greatly changed from the first original position gradually approached to this original position without any clicks. These changes suggest that the improvement of condylar movement might affect the condition of TMJ and occlusal relationship.
