Abstract

The author attained to the following results; (1) There is no chemical method to be applicable to the determenation of the copper are or copper compounds in the pyrite cinder. (2) The liquid used in the wet treatment of copper are is inapplicale to the quantitative analysis as it somewhat acts on some kinds Of copper ore. (3) The microscope is the only means for the quantitative analysis. (4) Because of the difficulty of determination of the tenorite (CuO) under microscope, the author utilized the differ. nce of the hydrogen reduction temperature. (5) Seeing from the result, there were found little chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), chalcocite (Cu2S). and bornite (Cu3FeS3) and, in some instances, abundantly found tenorite cuprite (Cu2O). In general covelline (CuS) and, copper ferrite are found in not so much quantity. (6) Seeing from the results of leaching the cinder roasted at 500600°C, generally good result was obtained in the sample rich in chalcopyrite and chalcocite, the optimum leaching solution being 1% sulphuric acid solution.
