Abstract
Johkoku manganese mine of Chugai Mining Co. Ltd. located in south-west corner of Hokkaido, is now in successful operation producing 10, 000 tons of crude ore per month, after the completion of ore dressing plant expansion and mechanization of mining equipments during last 15 months. Which was concluded although shrinkage stoping has been practiced for a lung time in the past, we have realized the disadvantages in the method, that cut-and-fill mining method is adopted for rhodochrosite vein at present.The problems of mining proper, which are under consideration now as follows:1) Concentration of headings, and speed-up of advance.2) Mechanization of heading transportation.3) Sufficient and constant supply of filling materials for stopes.4) Rational improvement of main haulage system.The goal of 15, 000 tons production per month has been attained and now all our efforts are made to overcome these difficulties.
