Abstract
容器包装プラスチックのリサイクルの意義や材料リサイクルの優先的な取り扱いへの疑問に応えるためにも，材料リサイクル，ケミカルリサイクル，エネルギー回収といったさまざまなリサイクル手法による環境負荷や資源消費の削減効果を客観的に評価することが求められている。本稿では，これまでの容器包装プラスチックリサイクルのライフサイクル評価 (LCA：Life Cycle Assessment) の事例をレビューして，さまざまなリサイクル手法による二酸化炭素 (CO2) 排出の削減効果について考察した。その中で，システム境界や代替される製品の設定によって評価結果が影響されることに言及し，容器包装プラスチックリサイクルのLCA評価に残された課題について述べた。
