Abstract

Field observation was carried out to measure the amount of sediment transport due to tidal flow by using some sediment traps. Sediment traps contained for suspended load and for bed material one. When theground level was the vicinity of the mean water level, the amount of deposition became the maximum. The wave data measured by hydraulic pressure wave gauge was transformed to the velocity data near tidal flat bed by using a linear filter theory and was examined that the effect of waves on turbulence properties. The amount of a sediment transport during a tide were calculated based on the suspended load theory of Ashida-Michiue and Itakura-Kishi, but the agreement level between the calculation and the observation was not so good.
