Abstract

A new column-base joint system with inclined screws and a steel base-plate were developed to be used in large timber constructions. This method is aimed to use in the column base joint of large timber constructions. Experiments were conducted with various number of screws, screw lengths, and steel plate types. Experimental results and calculated results by proposed formulas of previous research not applicable within this experimental study, clarifying issues in previous studies.
