Abstract

This paper deals with stress states at the laminate interior and free edges of woven glass-epoxy laminates with temperature-dependent properties. The composite material in generalized plane strain is assumed. The finite element method is used to study the influence of weave geometry and thermal effects on internal and edge stresses in G-10 CR glass-epoxy laminates at low temperatures. Numerical results on the influence of the warp angles on the distribution of internal and edge stresses at different temperatures are obtained and presented in a graph form.
